I wanted to take a moment to explain my recent absences.Several people here have known me for a while through the MIB boards as well as the LilGuyz Yahoo group. Most of those people know I'm pretty thick skinned and don't often get offended. Most of those people know I do not mind if you borrow from my pieces as long as you acknowledge where it came from; I'm pretty sure most of the members of this group have done that at some point in their micro-career.

The thing that has "gotten my dander up" recently has been because of a poster on DeviantArt. His gallery is made up of micros that he claims he made himself. However, I know this is not true because several of the micros he has posted are mine. I politely sent him a not on DA and asked him to provide credit or take the micros down since they are mine and were created 2 years before he claims to have made them. His response in his exact words "I will not give you or anyone else credit..." He goes on to say to send him a list of the ones I claim to have made and he will take them down and post a journal entry on why they were removed. I have seen a journal entry response to this same accusation and he is quite unpleasant. He then says to send only a list of the ones I claim ownership of and if I want to send a message to the other people I think he has "stolen from they can make a similar request. I wouldn't make such a big deal of it if one of the ones he is claiming wasn't the Orange Lantern Luthor that took me close to 6 hours to make.

This is what has made me not want to make micros any longer. So, what say you fellow MIB'ers? Do I give up and stop making micros and let it go, do I send him a list and "suffer the wrath of his journal entry" or do I call him out on each image posted pointing to my original?

I do not know if he is a member here or not. Either way, I would strongly encourage each of you to take a look at his gallery and call him out on any that are yours. I know at least one of Strider's is on there too, but I recognize different styles from a lot of you.

Yeah, Ive seen him before, not sure if hes got my stuff, but I have said something to him before about not giving credit to those that originally made alot of the stuff that hes posted, and I got pretty much the same response. The thing is, you shouldnt let him get to you to the point that you decide you dont want to continue. The best thing I can say is, if your a member of the site is to report him for theft, or whatever, just dont let him make you stop doing what you enjoy, and are very talented at doing.

Sad and unfortunate that you have to deal with art theft like this, considering how talented you are that you would consider thinking of giving this hobby up over such a thing. It's happened to a lot of us over the years, and will continue to happen no matter what.

As for whether or not this person is a member, I'm not entirely sure. We've had member on here before who have outright stolen art, just to post it on sites such as DA, or even Superbuddies claiming it as theirs and hoping no one will catch on.

Admittedly I've seen my stuff posted on DA galleries with claims by said artists as their works being original. I've confronted them as well, and basically managed to get the higher ups of DA to deal with said art theft. Though I still have an account with DA, I simply refuse to post my work there for fear of art theft happening again. Now I know that just simply posting here isn't going to absolutely guarantee that my work will be safe from theft, but I like to think that MIB is more a secure site than others. That and I simply prefer this site to others anyways.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I really hope you don't quit this hobby, and that you will go on to make more micros here. You are a very talented artist struck by some very unfortunate circumstances that have lead you to consider quitting.

I have to agree with everybody, CA you can't just give up, you are amazing at micro making.

Same goes for me, luv  Don't stop doing what you love cause of one idiot (or several if more than one of DA do it). It's like a writer stopping writing after one bad review or the same with an actor. Some people are buttheads and think they're entitled to everything they're clearly not. We'll do what we can to report them (me and other members that are on there from here that read this) and hopefully get at least some of it fixed. Your work is too fantastic to give up... I've always loved it and admired you for it.

Great stuff CA and welcome-ish back! Yeah, I've seen my stuff thieved on DA too before and the best way to handle it in my opinion is to bring it to others attention via a journal on you're own page and report the deviation to DA as theft. I don't think anyone here is stealing them as so many of the people on MIB are on DA and kinda watch out for this type of thing.

I've got some of my stuff stolen by him too - the Giant Size group-shot being the most visible. I can understand the feelings you have about it.
It's ultimately up to you; I (nor anyone else) am/is in no way able to make that decision for you. The problem becomes the fact that we've got sites like the wiki pages, and ZBB where anyone can go and grab our stuff. It becomes a choice you have to make about what you want: do you continue a hobby you enjoy, or do you let some pathetic little toerag win? I would suggest, however, if you do continue posting (which I personally hope you do) that you ensure that your work isn't added to archive sites. That may be the simplest way to go.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I think I've calmed down a bit for now. Hissy-fit aside, I made a Power Girl a while back and decided to make an Atlee/Terra to go with it since I can not recall having seen one before. Figured I would put them up side-by-side.

So, I have been working on a series of "What if..." using Powergirl as a member of each of the different Lantern Corps (with the exception of Green and White) and now DC wants to go and release the cover for Green Lantern #28 featuring a Red Lantern Supergirl??? Come on guys...


I hate all of the piping on the New 52 costumes, but I couldn't resist. I think my Powergirls are better...

Not bad man, and I have to agree, I hate all the piping on the 52 suits as well, it makes them too crowded. Also, its great to see you back, and that youre not letting this guy get to you. Keep on with the amazing work man!

only a little tiny remark about terra..the very very straight line on her chest looks slightly unnatural maybe just curve it out by 1-2 pixels
