Is it me, or does Cyclops role look like it will be bigger then just a cameo?

I've heard rumours they've ruined Deadpool... He better get his own spin off.

Well they have been re doing Deadpool scenes in the movie G4 says ... and Honestly since Marvel has been watching what the film makers do with their franchises the movies have been doing really good and have been really good... for example look at Iron Man and Hulk ( '08 ). And if news is if this movie does well Magneto and Wade will get there own movie. Plus is Scott running away from Sabe?

The reason Iron Man did well is because Marvel produced it themselves. Origins is done by Fox and so would it's spin offs. They own the X titles for as long as they are in the process of making movies with the characters. If by 2012 they are however not making movies with the characters, then the rights go back to Marvel. Same thing with Spidey, Daredevil, Blade, Elektra, Venom, or anything else that came before Iron Man (Hulk was not being made, that is why the rights returned to Marvel). Plus please do remember, Wade did not become Deadpool until after Weapon X. In fact, he doesnt even have the growths until the very last days of Weapon X. Wade Wilson joined Weapon X because he had terminal cancer and was promised a cure. They gave him a splicing DNA sequence from James (Wolverine/Logan) when he was out getting his adamantium. The splicing is what gave Wade the growths. After he was damaged both by physical appearance and his mental faculties, Weapon X dumped him at a failed project zone. There Wade fought for his life among other failed project in what was called the "deadpool". Wade secured his escape during one of these survival battles and left in the get-up he was given to wear. This costume became the original costume for Wade. Wade Wilson then became a Mercenary dubbing himself Deadpool. So all in all, if there was a spin-off, you would not see Wade as Deadpool until the latter part of the spin-off, not this movie. Thus, they can not have "ruined Deadpool", as Deadpool will not be in this movie.

why do i have a feeling. they'll speed that up majorly. i say the added footage is him as deadpool. i say maybe ten minutes of him actually in the deadpool costume. i mean really man when have the x-movies stayed close to the story lines of the comics?

they havent. there one down already with sabretooth calling wolvie jimmy which derives from james howlett. However james took on the name logan after the man he killed who killed his own family right after the catastrophe. so logan would never have been known by the name jimmy by anyone. furthermore it looks like they set up sabey and wolvey as knowing each other when they are young but they didnt actually meet until countless years later in a bar fight.

Deadpool is the "Final Baddy" in this movie, the final challenge Wolvie faces. His healing abilily is a mutant ability, yes, that's right, they made him a mutant in this film. They also gave him Baraka, from Mortal Kombat, swords that come out of his arm, Wolvie gets the claws, meanwhile, Wade gets the spikes. That has been confirmed, what's rumoured is that he has different powers from other charcters, there's a rumour he has Scott's eye blasters, Sabe's agility. Etc.

well that would be stupid, because sabey should be the final baddie, its quite logical that way. i dont get why these movie studios just dont stick with the story. its like how fox changed the ending for watchmen. WHAT ITS NOT LIKE ALAN MOORE CAN WRITE OR ANYTHING HURRR!!

Which is why Mr. Moore distances himself from the movies that are made about his writing. It disgusts him. I know if someone ever comes to me with their idea for a BUG movie (It could happen), I would want to be as close to the original source material as possible. But not a shot for shot remake of the story... I mean, if people want that, pick up the comic.

This is what annoys me about comic book fans (or any other artform really) when it comes to film. In general, what makes you think this film is aimed at you? It is not. It is aimed at the far greater numbers of people who liked X-men but dont read comics. Their just gonna pick what sounds good from the source material and try to make it into a film they think is good. Whether that good is through story, action set-pieces or ability to rake in cash, that's the important thing, not "staying true" to the original. If you want the original story, go ahead and read some of the comics. The movie studios know that the comic book readers are gonna go see this anyway, thats what they always do. How many times, even on this board have people said "This movie sounds like its gonna suck, but I'm gonna go see it because i love ____.
Contrary to what most comic book readers seem to believe a slavish desire to follow continuity is not a good thing, the story comes first.

The reason Alan Moore doesn't like his comics to be made into movies is because he writes each frame specifically. The effect of a Moore comic book is meant to only be told in a comic book format. Moore believes that the translation to a movie loses this effect and the material is no longer his own. Alan Moore is also a crazy bastard and pretty much hates the industry though so this is nothing but familiar.
