white lanterns

okay while in bed this morning i came up with the idea that if black lanterns exsist then why wouldnt white lanterns?

That would be kick ass if they did but what do you think there symbol would be?

I figure that's what DC might be shooting for with this all out Ring Wars that have been going on in the pages of Green Lantern. Would stand to reason that all these rings would merge into one power ring. White Lantern? Who knows. As for a symbol? Something that would suggest light and life. That's MY 2 cents in anyways. Take it as it is.

seeing how Hal Jordan already became a Red Lantern for a little while, is currently Blue and Green at the same time, and a preview cover for June show him Orange. Once could imagine that he would go through all the colors of the spectrum and merge with them and become the White Lantern, the leader of all the Lantern Corps, the Alliance of all the spectrum, the only way to defeat the Black Lanterns.

It's only a supposition.

I had imagined that they would be something to do with Rebirth and rejuvination.

I'm thinking that the first white lantern will be Hal Jordan, as he has used 3 (Red, Green,Blue) of the rings, and we will see him use Orange. I'd expect that they would some how melt them down, and combine them together.

I think the symbol of a White Lantern would be a circle. The Circle motif is present in all the lanterns (except black, which is death). In most cultures the circle is seen a perfection, divinity, and life. This seems to be a good idea to counter balance death.

well hal use the yellow ring too so he use 4 rings. orange soon it leave the violet and pink ( compassion and love )

Yeah, that's what my idea was ages ago, that Hal would become the first white lantern, because he has experience with the various rings/emotions. Others could probably go through the same stuff and get multiple rings, but wouldnt be able to handle the power of them all, whereas I think Hal could also power over a black ring too because he has died, which would bring a balance to he power of all the other rings.

That's just my theory of it anyway. Really can't wait for Blackest Night. Green Lantern is my favorite series going at the moment, and has been since Rebirth pretty much

yep at the moment green lantern and war of the kings are my best series. And with DC it one of the 3 series i get ( gl, GLC, and JSA... when they bring back the legion ... )

I was wondering for an idea that would be cool if Hal Jordan had a green lantern ring a blue lantern ring a yellow lantern ring an orange lantern ring a purple lantern ring and a black lantern ring on each of his fingers.

I disagree, respectfully.....in my opinion, Hal Jordan was the greatest lantern who ever lanterned in the history of the lantern(s). He has overcome tragedy in his life, experienced the evils of his selfish actions, experienced and overcame death, has weilded a multiplicity of rings so far....and has the overall experience.
That's my 2 cents worth anyway

White would be Purity, peace, life, clean, light, good.

I see a white lantern as someone to either clean up messes, or bring peace. Some one for Utopia, which is not as a good thing as they believe so that could make another storyline if they make them. Since u cannot have good with out evil in the world or one small step out of line and ur banished from existence.

I could see Ch'p coming back as a black lanter, then becoming a red or yellow lantern and then turning good again and becoming a blue or violet. I know that it wouldn't happen but imagine a squirel like creature being the weilder of the entire spectrum of rings
