Like Fool said, no one should touch that performance for the Third movie, but, you could continue the character in an animated straight to DVD movie, like this could turn out to be, with someone new voicing the Joker.

That would be awesome.

well i agree that they shoulden't try to use the Joker in a third movie, not even in a fourth.. (I don't think there are many actors that wanna try that role anyway)

But i don't remember where i read it that there are many people that wanna retire the Joker from the movies... That is just stupid, just because the actor that played him the best died they shoulden't raise him to the heavens...

Yeah, to retire him from the movies would be stupid, but, retire him from the Nolan series, yes... But how many more Batman movies can come after the Nolan series is done?

Yeah from the Nolan verse he could be retired but for the Batman franchise.. NO. As for how many Batman movies? I guess that they will continiue to make them as long as people are intrested in the Dark Knight himself..
