| Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen, and welcome to my lab. Please allow me to introduce myself. I am your host and avid Micro Collector… Dr. Microstein. Here within my small but modest laboratory I have strived to unlock the secrets of Micro making. (Although animating these little buggers is still a BIG mystery to me.) In truth, I have delved into the mysterious and often misunderstood world of “Frankensteining”, or as I prefer to call it… “Micro-Splicing”. (Insert thunder & lightning here) Now, there are some people out there that will frown upon what I do, and while they probably won’t come after me with torches and pitchforks… which wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened… I never the less humbly apologize if my creations upset them in any way, shape or form and I shall certainly not bear them any ill will. Besides… if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times…“You can make an omelet without breaking a few skulls.” HA! But seriously, since I am not the first, nor shall I be the last at creating Micro Heroes, I must thank those amazing Micro Artists that have come before me, and those that shall come after me for all their help and inspiration, for without them... none of this would have been possible. So my friends, without any further delays... feel free to explore the inner workings of my lab and by all means… please enjoy the show. Yours Truly, Dr. Microstein First up are a few Micros of myself, and “Kudos” to whomever created the clothing and body temp, without them I’d either look like a “stick figure”, or worse yet… I’d be naked (Yikes!). Following the Micro ''Me's'' will be a few of my inventions. Enjoy. Dr. Microstein

_ Now, ladies and gentlemen... I present to you one of my earlier attempts at making a few Micro “Weapon” Accessories. I don’t recall exactly where I found the original, but I’ve placed it within the Blue box. Who knew that one little micro could launch so many others. But, one man’s micro is another man’s nuclear reactor. HA! Weapons
Next, you will find some of my earlier Micro-Splicing experiments. The first one is a hot little number I’ve dubbed a “Lava Man”… anyone for roasted marshmallows? HA! Oh, I’ve also included a look deep within its mysterious subterranean world. Oooo… Spooky. Lastly is a pair of Insectoids that I’ve named “Stingers”, along with some of their Hive brethren… not to mention a not so nice glimpse of their ultimate agenda for the human race. Before I go I must give a massive “Kudos” to whom ever created the “Davros” micro from the “Dr. Who” series, as most of you can tell from my lab equipment… there is a definite “Scaro” influence. So again… “Kudos” for making all your future nightmares come true. MUHUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dr. Microstein Our Hero P.S. See you next year! .

| Now this is how it should be done! Taking micros "back home" and getting as close to being a comic as possible! This looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun, and I can hardly wait!!! Let's keep it up and KEEP IT COMING!!! | |

these ones were entirely made by the madness & barney (using parts of a micro without crediting is OK, but using a complete micro with no changes and without telling where he comes from is not.)

| Greetings all, Before I post any of my Micro Machinations, I must apologize for not crediting Madness and Barney for their ant and mantis Micros. I certainly didn’t mean to step on anyone’s toes, and I’ll try to be a bit more careful in the future about giving credit where credit is due. However, in my defense, I did re-color them and I added the wings along with the stinger. Plus… if you look at my first post, right beneath my third “Weapons” Accessory I wrote: - After that you’ll find some of my earlier Micro-Splicing experiments. Again, “Kudos” to whom ever created these kick “A” temps! - But again… I apologize for the mix-up. I’ve been collecting Micros from all over the Web for at least a year (if not longer), and not being the brightest bulb of the bunch, I never even thought about sorting them by artist. I would just click and save them to a folder… then to another folder… and another folder… and so on… and so on… and so on. Truth be told… I’ve just recently started sorting them by groups; Marvel, DC, Image, etc. And brother… do I have a mess… a M-E-S-S of Micros. Gads!!! Oh! I also want to thank everyone for their kind words of support and interest in my Micros. If possible… I’ll try to post some new ones at least every 2 - 3 weeks. (Time & personal obligations permitting of course.) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- – Haven – About your pitchfork… I found it. One of my little cuties was using it as a teething ring. HA! Oh… as far as “burning” my little ones… (1) they’re all flame retardant, and (2)… I don’t think their “BIG BROTHERS” would be too happy that. Do you??? HA!2 – Daisukemousy18 - Thanks – Kid Chaos! – Thanks KC, just thought I’d try something a little different. You know… just of kicks. Anywho… I really don’t know how many of these “Micro-Scenes” I’m going to do. I got the backgrounds from “Cartoon Orbit” … a Cartoon Network card collecting/game site, but unfortunately… things there have slowed down. Not only have I (along with a bunch of fellow Orbiters’) been having a duce of a time logging on there, but also I’m afraid that the rumors of CN shutting the site down are indeed coming to pass. It’s really sad, because if it wasn’t for me joining “Orbit”… along with a few other “Orbit” code/fan boards… I might not have ever found out about Micro Heroes, and then… an entire new world would have been lost to me. ( Anyone out there got a tissue?) – Joebleau – Diggin’ your “Joker” smilie… … it Rocks! And yeah… if you’re lookin’ for fun… Micro-Makin’ is definitely where it’s at! Cool Beans!!!– Felis 7 – Hey F7, I’m not a mad doctor… I’m an “Angry Doctor”. Hey! You kids… get off of my lawn before it eats you! (I hate it when it snacks between meals.) HA! (burp!) Oh well… I never liked that kid anyway. Now… As for using “both” Byzantines versions, I just needed to “barrow” a future-looking type of Insectoid for the last Micro-Scene. I’m still new at all this and clothing and or armor is still very far off for me to do… freestyle-wise... and I certainly didn’t mean any disrespect to their creators. I’ll try to be a lot more careful in the future. The future Conan??? That’s right Max. All the way to the year 2000. HA! - Just kidding F7. I’ll be careful. Oh, and thanks for the heads up. You rock!– Jakob – Thanks dude! Holy Craperoni indeed! By the way… thanks to your battle cry I came up with a whole new Micro Hero idea… “Captain Sh*t-on-a-Stick”. He may not be the fastest hero in town, but no super-villain ever wants to be on the receiving end of his “Stinky Staff of Justice”. HA! Oh…here’s an another idea… how about “The Poo Man Group”??? I smell somethin’ stinkyyyyyyy… Double HA-HA! – Omniferis – Well… the thing about the Watchtower is… well… see… in that world… well… I’m sorry to have to tell you this but… it’s really just a satellite. There is no JLA or Fantastic Four in this world. It is a world without superheroes. No Superman or Bat-Man. No Spider-Man or Ghost Rider. Not even a lousy Ambush Bug or Fuller-Brush Man. This world consists of humans. Mere humans with no super powers of any kind. In other words my friend… … they’re LUNCH!!! Hurry my brothers… it’s time to feed!!! Yummers. As for your question… Are more coming? Perhaps one day. Yes, one day they’ll be back. - Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs, and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine. Dr. Who (William Hartnell) Season 2-Episode 10 – “The Dalek Invasion of Earth” – Anth – Thanks, I may just be a newbie at all this… but I’m havin’ a blast!!! In other words… capital F-U-N… FUN!!!– Ace – Thanks man, I hope to have some more soon. I just need to work some of the bugs out of them. Get it… “bugs”. HA! Oh well… I thought it was funny.----------------------------------------------------------------------- O.k. Now… who’s up for some Micros??? Well too bad… I’m gonna post them anyway. So there. ;P First up is a Micro of yours truly modeling the latest in Pincing Peril… my “Octo-Arms”; not only is this little number ideal at throttling those pesky holiday merry makers… but at long last… I can finally get to all those hard to reach at items on the top shelf. HA! Octo-ArmsNext is a batch of my “Helper-Bots” –There are Scouts (or Drones) who patrol the corridors and keep a watchful eye out for… well… for whom ever I don’t particularly want snooping around my lab. There are the Welders who help with some of the more delicate work in the lab, and the Tech-Heads who help with the even more complex things. Basically, if I have a particularly heavy workload, I can program these guys to do whatever needs to be done, and by morning… just like the “Shoemaker & the Elves”… the works finished. Fab-oooo! Also, along with the Scouts (or Drones), I have “Security-Bots” who are a bit more hands on when it comes to dealing with… undesirables. There are the Bruisers and the Grapplers. The Bruisers are quite strong, and in attack mode have the ability to spin around with such speed and force that their arms become like a massive duel-blade. Yes folks… they slice, dice and Julian fry! Yummers! They’re also great assets in the lab when I have some particularly heavy objects needing to be moved. The Grapplers are also great assets in the lab when it comes to lifting, hauling, loading or bracing even heavier objects. As for their security aspects go… well… just think of their coils as Anacondas on steroids. And to think… some people call me mad. MUHUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Helper-Bots –ScoutsWeldersTech-HeadsSecurity-Bots -BruisersGrapplersNext, say “Hello” to my little friend Chee-Chee, my Mecha-Monkey and all around number one little helper. She’s there for me no matter what and has turned out to be quite a little mischief-maker in her own rights. In fact; a few days after she came on line some of the other bots teased her about being a “daddy’s girl” (which of course she is, and that’s cool), but as soon as these “rowdy” bots found out that she could take them apart quicker than I could make them… the teasing pretty much stopped. Plus… we have more toasters than we’ll ever need. Chee-Chee. You’ve got some splanin’ ta do! Chee-Chee, the Mecha-MonkeyChee-Chee- "Flight Mode"
__ Next is (or should I say ‘was’) a slight accident that Chee-Chee had with my enlarging ray, but after hammering out a few bits and pieces… she was fine. In fact, if it wasn’t for her constantly climbing the lab’s tower to swat at passing planes… she probably could have stayed Kong-like; but… she’s my little Chee-Chee… and that’s how I wanted her. Besides, I missed it when she’d hop up to sit on my shoulder. (And I certainly looked silly sitting on hers.) But at least with some tweaks here and there, I was able to design and create my first “Robo-Sentry” prototypes. Proto-1 was in homage of Chee-Chee (but without the tail). Proto-2 was simply an extension of P-1, and Proto-3 was to keep those blasted lookie-loos away from my lab. Who says I’m not a people person. HA! Chee-Chee - "Super-Sized" Robo-Sentries - Proto-1Proto-1 - "Flight Mode"Proto-2Proto-2 - "Flight Mode"Proto-3 Proto-3 - "Flight Mode"
Well, I guess that’s about all for today. I hope you enjoyed my Micros (along with a bit of a background story), and as I said earlier… if possible… I’ll try to post some new Micros at least every 2 - 3 weeks. (Again, Time permitting.) Oh, before I go… ( doesn’t this guy ever shut up)… I recently tried my hand at ‘Animating’ my Micros, but with no luck. I tried “UnFREEz”, and was told – “Error – Not a GIF file, or incorrect version number”. I also tried the “Advanced GIF Animator”… but was told just about the same thing, – “Invalid Gif Signature” -. Now, before I downloaded them (at separate times of course), I did double check things to make sure that my system (Millennium) would be able to run those programs. Both sites said that my system could run them… and a downloading I did go. So, if anyone could clue me in on what I could do to get “Animating”, or possibly what I might have done wrong, I’d certainly appreciate it. Not only would it be great to get these Micros moving, but… I have one Robo-Sentry who’s just itchin’ to do the “Macarena”! Thanks again. Dr. Microstein, M.D (Micro Doctor… or Mentally Deranged… whichever. HA!) P.S. I don’t know if ya’ll have noticed… but I do tend to ramble on a bit. HA! Oh well… Happy Microing Ya’ll! .

| the problem you have with animation is that your micros are JPG files, not GIF files (see the tutorial section to see how to save BMP files into GIF files) this one was made with UnFREEz after converting your JPG files into GIF files: | |

| Thanks for the info Felis, as well as for getting Chee-Chee into flight mode. I did check out your Tutorial, along with a few others, but I think the problem I’m having is with “Photobucket” itself. See, when I make my Micros, I save them as GIFs (never could stand BMPs), but when I upload them to Photobucket… they turn my GIFs into JGPs. Exactly why (or how) this happens, I don’t know. I’ve tried using their edit function, but that just lets me change my Micro’s title… not its format. It’s really quite frustrating. Also, I think I finally solved the “Animating” problem. Although… it’s not really how I had hoped it would be. See, first I use the Advanced GIF Animator to see what Micros I can or can’t animate. Next, I take one of the Micros (M1) that will work and pop it on my ‘MS Paint’ program. Then, I do the exact same thing to one of my Micros (M2) that for some reason can’t or won’t be animated. Lastly, I then make a copy of that Micro and pop it on top of the first Micro (M1). Confusing… isn’t it. Now, trying to find the right M1 hasn’t been easy. Basically I’ve had to find the least colored Micro in my collection. Fortunately, I was working on some WW II “Invaders” villains to send to my cousin, and my 1941 WW II Nazi Villains - ''Battle Axis'' - Dr. Nemesis – 001A (a.k.a. Dr. Death & Leader of 'Battle Axis') fit the bill perfectly. Well… almost perfectly. See, even though his outfit is white… when I placed my “Dr. Microstein” micro on it, there was a slight change in the color. Not much… but I certainly don’t have dark green/military green highlights in my hair… let alone in my beard and mustache. HA! So… why is it that some… and not all… of my Micros show up on these Animating programs? Like I said, I save all my Micros to GIF… and I just don’t understand why some will work, while others won’t. As I stated in my previous post: - I tried “UnFREEz”, and was told – “Error – Not a GIF file, or incorrect version number”. I also tried the “Advanced GIF Animator”… but was told just about the same thing, – “Invalid GIF Signature” – . Oh, I also tried the Beneton Movie GIF program, but like the others, it too told me that the Micros I chose were either Invalid or Incorrect Gifs. Again… most confusing. But, as I said earlier, I think I finally solved the “Animating” problem… but it certainly isn’t working out how I had hoped it would. So, if there are any suggestions that you (or anyone else out there) could give me, it would be greatly appreciated. Like I said in my previous post: I have one Robo-Sentry who’s just itchin’ to do the “Macarena”!Thanks Again, Dr. M P.S. – Cold_Fressato – Thanks man. I try. True, they might not always turn out the way I had planned… but, I do try. – Choob – Well then… Take two of them and call your doctor in the morning. HA! – Vodnicek – Glad you’re diggin’ my Insectoids, but like I told Omniferis in a previous post… There is no JLA or Fantastic Four in this world. Yummers. Just thinking about it gets my mouth to watering. Although, truth be told, and as strange as it’ll sound… I get the same reaction while watching actual medical programs on PBS. I don’t know what it is… but for some reason surgeries get me salivating. I suppose it has something to so with the freshness of the meat. But I suppose I’ve said too much already. Sleep well. – Felis 7 – Again, thanks for all your help. You sir, most definitely R-O-C-K!!!.

| My best bet on this is, try to load all M2 (not working GIF) with irfan view and save them to another folder (I suggest the using of the batch method, press the B key in irfan view) then try again to create an animation, don't forget that each step of your animation must have the same width and height (I know you already know that, but this is for everybody to read ) then, for the JPG/Photobucket problem, maybe it's time to forget about this provider, a lot of other people had the same problem with them, so you can try another picture hosting server like imageshack or any other, type "free hosting" in google to see the list of free services I hope you will solve this (If nothing of all of this works, you can send me the GIF and I will do the animation and send it back to you)

Dr. M = P.S.= – Felis 7 – Thanks for the 4-1-1 regarding my animation problems, later today I plan to check out Irfan View and see what (if anything) happens. Also, while I appreciate your animation offer, I’m sure you have enough things to do yourself without having to animated someone else’s stuff too. | Subject: Gettin' Animated! (PART 01) Sun Jan 21, 2007 4:39 pm
| Greetings All, Well, I finally was able to get my computer working again. I deleted some cookies, files, and cleared my history. Who knew I surfed so much over the past few weeks. Anywho, just wanted to let everyone know that I’ve finally… finally cracked the “Animated GIF” mystery. True, animating may not be a mystery to some… but to me… my 2006 Tax forms were much, much easier. HA! Also, as you may (or may not) have noticed, there is a slight color change in my “Animated” micros as opposed to their originals. As I stated in my previous post, I had to go through a lot to animate them. But hey… even though it did take me a while, at least I finally have some “Animated” Micros for the group. I’ve also started working on actual Comic Book related characters, and I hope to animate a few of them as well. By the way Felis, I did download the Irfan utility that you told me about. I’m still trying to wrap my mind around it because even though I did as you suggested; “ try to load all M2 (not working GIF) with irfan view and save them to another folder (I suggest the using of the batch method, press the B key in irfan view) then try again to create an animation…” both “ UnFREEz” and “Advanced GIF Animator” are still telling me – “Invalid GIF Signature”. Oh well, I’ll figure it out… eventually. As far as “Imageshack” goes… well, when I uploaded my GIFs… they were turned into PNGs. Gads! Now, here’s a mystery for anyone who wants to take a stab at it. As I stated in my previous post, when I uploaded my Micros to “Photobucket”… they were changed from GIFs to JGPs. Nasty. But for some reason, when I uploaded my “Animated” Gifs… they stayed Gifs. What’s up with that? Not that I’m complaining, but why are “Standard” Gifs changed into Jpgs, while “Animated” Gifs aren’t? Again, I’m not complaining… I’m just curious. Well, that’s about it for today. I have quite a few Updated Micros to post, so I’d best get to it. I hope ya’ll enjoy them, and as I said earlier, I’m currently working on some actual Comic Book related micro heroes… and villains… so I hope to be able to post them some time later. I’ve also had a few ideas for some new additions to my lab… but hey, one thing at a time right? Right. OH! I almost forgot. If you’ll recall, I mentioned something about one of my “Robo-Sentries” just itchin’ to do the “Macerana”. Well… now that I’ve finally cracked the animation code… he’s a dancin’ fool! Also, if you’d like the full effect… go to soundamerica.com. Click on “Themes”, open the folder marked “Masc.”, and click on and download “macrana1.wav”. It’s only 56 seconds long… but when played at the same time as my “Dancin’ Sentry”… it’s well worth it for the full-on funky-robo effect. F.Y.I… I did try to attach it to my Micro, but unfortunately I didn’t have any luck. Until next time, take care and… Party On Dudes!!! Dr. M NOTE: This will be the 3rd time I’ve tried to post my Micros today. Although, just by the sear size of some of them, I suppose they could be called “Maxros” (420 KB - 999 KB)! Anywho, since it’s been a rather difficult post (to say the least), I’m going to have to split them into groups. As soon as I get some input, I’ll post the next group. And so on. And so on. And so on. Besides, I know how double… triple… or even quadruple personal posts are frowned upon, and I certainly don’t want to be known as a “spastic poster”. If I can… I’m going to try to post these into 3 groups total… 4 if there isn’t any other alternative. But hopefully… there’ll just be 3 groups in all. Again… “Hopefully”. By the way, the 1st micro of this group is simply an enlarged example of the “slight color change” that I spoke of earlier. Just thought you’d like to know. Oh well, here comes Group 1. ---------------------------------------------------- Large example of "slight " color change.Dr. M's Inventions -

| Doc! What awesome micros you've produced. I really enjoy these efforts and can't wait to see your heroes (& villains). | |
