| I'm putting this here for now.....
You ever have a cool idea for a micro set but no one is on aim/yahoo/whatever for you to run it by? Well, post that idea here and see what people think, maybe it could help you in the long run and flesh it out. _________________ -Den-

| So, I'm working on my "grand return" as it were, to micros. I have about three projects in the works that will go into my new gallery. One of these is creating a new DC style hero (that I might adopt as my "alter ego") and making 52 variations that go along with the 52 mutliverses in the DC universe. So here's the skeleton idea. I'm hoping we all can kick around some ideas on this one. Name: Vector Nova Powers: Telekenisis, energy wave generation & manipulation, gravity manipulation, photographic memory Source: Biotechnology added to abnormal/higher brain function Weakness: Runs a high risk for having self suppressed M/HMD Now you may be asking "What is M/HMD?" Well, it just so happens that I've written a little bit about it, and I ENCOURAGE everyone to use it that needs a reason for super villian to be a super villian. My Essay on M/HMD - Spoiler:
M/HMD: Metahuman/Hypercognative Malign Disorder is a mental disorder that affects some super humans. Usually associated with those that are super intelligent, it has become more prolific amongst other types of super humans in recent years. This is generally attributed to the increase in the strength of superpowers today's super humans versus levels in earlier recorded super humans.
M/HMD usually develops in members of the super powered community that are emotionally unsuitable to cope with or accept their places among society as a whole. The subject typically rationalizes a variation on one of three conclusions. These can be challenging to diagnose, because they commonly masquerade, at least initially, as a superiority complex. The first conclusion is to attempt to exert complete control over their environment. This is vernacularly dubbed as the "The World Domination Conclusion". The second conclusion is to eliminate one or more super powered beings, seeing them as the source of the problems associated with M/HMD. This leads to a fixation or obsessions know as "The Arch Enemy Conclusion". The third conclusion is undoubtedly the most dangerous. Known as "The Apocalypse Conclusion", it is characterized by an anarchistic desire to destroy the world. In some cases the superhuman in question desirers to remake the world in their own image. In others this desire will not manifest. In such cases it is widely hypothesized that the subject will commit suicide if their goals are met. Again, as this conclusion manifests with a devil-may-care attitude concerning the well being of the rest of the population, it is extremely dangerous.
M/HMD has been recorded within three groups, most commonly in cases of IQ's equal to or greater than 200 (although one recorded case manifested in a non-metahuman with an IQ of 175). Also susceptible are class 8 and above metahumans, and least commonly those that possess magical items rated at Beta-9 and above. Early signs of this disorder include an expanding superiority complex, unexplained introversion, unexplained extroversion, and feelings of catastrophic failure.
Unfortunately, at this time, there is no cure, and no effective treatment. Careful observation of young metahumans and hypercongnatives by older non-M/HMD sufferers seems to be the only viable form of control, other than incarceration and confinement. It should be noted that M/HMD is not a condition acquired from mental deterioration. Each subject studied so far has been "born with" this disorder, even though some cases do not gain the powers to allow the disorder to fully develop until later in life. Cases in which healthy metahumans suddenly present M/HMD have either been suppressed up to that point in time by the sufferer, or the diagnosis of M/HMD is incorrect.
Although Metahuman/Hypercognative Malign Disorder is a viable diagnosis, deeper study of each case should be conducted before a positive diagnosis of M/HMD is made. This diagnosis cannot be made until all symptoms of M/HMD have presented.
So anyway, please help me out! Right now I'm concerned with the name (if it's a a good name to go along with the powers) if the powers make any sense, and if this seems like a decent hero. I'll work on the back story and the actual micro later. Finally, I ask you to spread the word about M/HMD, if you think it's a good concept. I'm really excited about it, and a bit proud!

| If you created that, then I must say, well done. It makes a lot of sense, and while reading it, my one character, Maxwell Helbourne/The Skull came to mind. The only problem is, he's not a super human, but he does suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder due to witnessing his father murder his mother. Sometimes, his second personality, the Skull, takes control, the two believe they are seperate beings, and actual interact with each other. But as the reader will learn when the story goes on, they are one in the same.
I like what you'be created.

| Hmmmm. It's not a bad idea.....but it does sound very similar to Malign Hypercognition Disorder. This is what Dr. Impossible, the main character and protagonist of Austin Grossman's book Soon I Will Be Invincible, is diagnosed with....He mentions it on page eight.... http://www.amazon.com/Soon-Invincible-Vintage-Austin-Grossman/dp/0307279863/ref=pd_sim_b_2 (I heartily recommend the book, BTW.....) | |

| Bought the book the first day it came out. Took the name from the book. In the book it's simply a fancy name for "Mad Scientst Disease". Decided to expand on it. If you don't like it, don't use it. I just posted it as a bit of "payment" for everyone's help with the rest of my character. | |

| Here is an idea i have, it would be based on those 70's action movies
Jack Steel
Plot: Former cop Jack Steel is forced out of retirement after one of his old enemies return to New York and flooding the streets with crime and drugs. After a failed attempt at taking his enemies operations down, he enlists the help of his old partner Marcus Wright. Jack and Marcus must take down corrupt cops, midget pimps, ninjas and gangsters to get to their old nemesis.
Characters:
Jack Steel: In his prime Jack Steel was the most famous cop in New York City. Taking down drug rings and beating down pimps and crime lords. But his age finally caught up with him and he was forced to retire. Jack and his wife Jesse bought a small suburban house in Forrest Hills and settled down.
Marcus Wright: Former Partner of Jack Steel, Marcus is now a teacher in a local Harlem school. When approached by Jack, Marcus is reluctant to return to the crime fighting gig. But after hearing about Jack's wife, Marcus agrees to help him.
Lance "The Cheetah" King : Arch enemy of Jack and Marcus, Lance went into hiding after his last battle with Jack and Marcus over 10 years ago. He has suddenly returned to the streets, single handedly taking out the competition and soon becomes the largest and most powerful crime lord in NYC.
One Eyed Butch: Former Hired goon, Butch is Lance's right hand man and helps him take over NYC's underworld. Butch is now nicknamed "One Eyed Butch" due to losing his eye in a battle with Jack Steel. Butch has had a grudge against him ever since. He sees Lance's plans as the perfect way to destroy Jack. Butch was one og the goons that attacked Jack's home, killing his wife in the process.
What do you guys think ? Remember this is just a brief description of the idea.
