I do however have some bad news...


My computer died over the weekend.


I'm hoping that I'll be able to get it fixed sometime... and I pray that I won't lose everything... but at the momment, money is rather tight.

So for now, I'll using a computer at our Public Library when I can.


Well, time here is limited and I still have to check my e-mails.

Just thought I'd let ya'll know that my quest continues to restore my computer back to its former glory.

I went to Best Buy yesterday and was told that due to the age of my computer (2000) that I'd more than likely have to get a new one.

Yeah... like everyone can just whip out a few hundred + bucks at the drop of a hat.

According to the Geek Squad, it’s either the Motherboard, or the Power Supply.

Personally I think it’s the Power Supply, because if it was just the Motherboard, the little green light on the back of the computer would come on… which it doesn’t.

By the way, Best Buy doesn’t carry either item, so I’ll have to find them myself.

I’m not giving up!


Anywho…

Here’s the skinny on what I have.

i know how it sucks not to be able to use the comp doc, im only using half of mine, no mouse and no down button so figuring out how to only use the keyboard is hard to do! i hope u can find what u need, now im to find some money for a new mouse and keyboard!

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their concern about my computer.

- I’d also like to thank ya’ll for not laughin’ at its age.

Anywho…

I did get some good news.

My cousins are heavily into computers… they've built most of their own… and after I told them what happened, they too believe that it’s more of a Power Supply problem than a Motherboard problem.

They also said that they just might have a spare Power Supply that will fit my computer, but they’d have to get back with me sometime this Sunday to let me know for sure.

If it’s a go… not only would they send it to me (they live in Louisiana), but once it arrives, I should call them and they’d help me install it.

So everyone… cross ya’lls fingers!!!


By the way, sorry about the bum's rush the other day, but I was running low on Library computer time… much like today.

With that said, I’ like to thank Dave, Koosh, Kon, D23, JD & K28 for all their concerns. Don’t worry ya’ll… it may be a while, but I “do” plan on being back.

I’m just not sure when.


Oh! RK… sorry to hear that you’re having computer problems too.

I certainly hope that you’ll be able to get yours up and running soon, but I totally understand about the $$$ problem.

- Why couldn’t we have been born rich… instead of so darn sexy?!? HA!

That's too bad, and it is a bit hard being the only mildly/massively insane person on here for a while.

Well… I’m back!!!

It took a little longer than I thought it would, but I was finally able to get a new Power Supply.

HURRAY!!!!

Now I’m play’n with power… 230 Watts of POWER!!! HA!

But seriously, if ya’ll ever need to replace any parts on your computers, be sure to check out 911forPCs.com. They had fast and friendly service, easy on-line or over the phone payments, plus… the $$$ I paid for a “brand new” power supply (39.99) was about half of what some of the so-called electronic shops around here wanted for a used one. Pew!

Anywho… it might take me a while to get back into the swing of things, but since I’ve been gone for over a month… I’m sure that I have A LOT of ya’lls galleries to scope out, and even more Micro-collecting to catch up on.

Speaking of which…

I’d like to thank Jomos for the Micro “Gift” he had whipped up for me, just prior to my power supply problems.

I’d also like to thank RayneKirby (RK) for the little Icon that she whipped up for me during my down time.
