Bruce Wayne is an intelligent man, arguably the best detective in the world and he is rich beyond most people can comprehend. Once Batman shows up in Gotham and turns out to be more than just the scared ramblings of a few drugged out thugs, the suspicion turns to him as being Batman. Who else could fund such a thing?

Being graced with intelligence and the powers of deduction, Bruce would see this coming and be prepared. Forging medical records and staging an accident in his past it would appear that Bruce Wayne in paralyzed from the waist down. Publicly he is perceived as withdrawn and somewhat brooding, but then he’s a billionaire who can buy anything except his parents’ lives back and the ability to walk. He is the CEO of Wayne Enterprises and while he says he has no connection with Batman he publicly supports him and even goes as far as to offer support in a TV interview.

Alfred is as always his companion and caretaker but we get back in touch with his past in that he recruits those who would be Batman. It makes perfect sense that a man such as Bruce Wayne would have a security detail, and three highly trained men are the highest of his team and they are Batman. Selected and trained to perfection they are equipped with the best gear money can make and as a expertly coordinated team they make Gotham believe there is only one Batman. Adam Keaton, Val West, And Michael Kilmer are Batman.

Bruce is the brains, he runs intelligence, hacks into systems, and does all of the detective work, they are simply his eyes and ears and fists. The first year of operations goes well, they are whispers in the night, scary stories told in dark alleys, and there are no real ‘super villains’ it’s just taking down the criminal element in Gotham. The Batman becomes fear itself and Gotham PD takes notice. Officially they cannot condone vigilante justice but this incarnation works very well. Not only is crime dropping but those thugs that don’t get the hint and usually found bound and gagged with the evidence against them humbly submitted by an anonymous party.

Notes:
The original Batgirl was named Betty Kane but I changed it to Kessel after one of the writers of The Killing Joke which was oddly enough Barbara Kesel. I liked the idea of two young girls seeing a need to team-up to watch each other back and accidentally mirror the Batman strategy on a smaller scale.
Cassandra I have loved as a character but I like the idea that she was offered to Bruce rather than just kind of encountered.
As for the Robins... well, I just wanted to have fun playing with the design/color scheme and decided only one Robin where everyone else was multiples didn't make much sense.
