In this case I even did not knew they were mutants, but as I read, in Thunderbolts#17, they appear as mutants, so:

Both groups were ennemies of the New Warriors, and had been forgotten a long time ago by everyone excepting his creator, Fabien Nicieza, who had brought them back.

Next group: The Nasty Boys. A strange group of mutants who appeared in three issues of X Factor, being forgotten since then, until they resulted to be part of the mutants that had kept his powers:
