| It's been awhile but I've got some new updated micros finished. The first two is my updated Superman and Green Lantern. The costumes are more formfitting as Superman's aura protects clothing that tight, and the fact that GL's costume is mostly based on energy from his ring. And now on to my new idea's for a Flash villain. Weather Wizard (Mark Mardon) Voice Actor: Jason Spisak Notes: This a character that amused me ever since I heard of him. Here was a man who used science to manipulate the weather, yet could do things that seemed like magic such as the flying carpet clouds. That's when I got an idea, what if the Weather Wizard's power is mystical and he doesn't even know it. The Graphic Audio version of the novel Superman: The Never-Ending Battle help cement the idea to me as a conversation between Superman, Flash, and a scientist at S.T.A.R. Labs revealed that Mark's powers defied explanation. So I decided to alter Mark's past only slightly. The idea is that his brother Clyde was working on a method of controlling the weather using a wire of metal that once apart of Thor's hammer, though Clyde didn't know that. Thinking it was charge with what he called aeolic energy he tried to develop a weather control machine using what's now the wand as the emitter. However he could never get the device to work but the emitter wand seemed to work when held by his brother who though it was the whole device. When Clyde tried to tell him the truth, he started to keel over from a heart attack and Mark never tried to give him his medication. Thus Mark's story about his brother's death being due to a heart attack is a half-truth. While Mark thinks the wand has a genetic lock that prevents others from using it, it's just that he's a homo magi who's power are best focused through the wand which is nearly indestructible due to the Uru metal at it's core. Only Shadow Khan and Dr Fate are aware of this, but keep it to themselves to keep him from growing stronger. Like the mainstream version he's just a super version of a petty thief just looking for that one big score. However he's not a spendthrift and if he did succeed, he might even go straight. While Superman's and GL costume's show their muscles, I got the idea that Mark's is more padded due to his more frail nature and foe. Also his body is not as developed as they are. For his I chose Mr. Spisak due to his work as Razer on the Green Lantern series. Overall I felt this was a good change for a well know character. Well that's it for now. Next Sunday I hope to post some more Earth 3 characters. Later! | |

I don't know yet. I'm still playing with his background. At any rate, I'm not yet satisfied with my new Earth 3 designs so I decided to post of original heroes I cooked up for a universe where seemly invincible heroes like Superman don't exist. While they posses powers they are not so powerful as to move planets or withstand a nuclear strike. The first of these is a team of heroes I'm dubbing the Patriots. The Patriots: When the first appearance of super-powered humans started at the end of the old millennium, The government knew it needed a group of heroes to help protect America and her interests. So staring with their resident super soldier Adonis, they formed a team of five heroes who would work as special deputies of the FBI. They became known as the Patriots. The members of the team are: Adonis: As part of the countries space program, scientist knew that they need workers who could handle environments that had higher or lower gravity. Lower gravity is not an issue for it would make work easier for those native to Earth, but higher gravity would be a problem. After years of trying to develop an anti-gravity system failed, they decided to try a form of genetic reconstruction. Gathering twenty of the finest Marines in the country, they exposed them to a series of special chemical and radiation treatments combined with immersions of tanks of water with greater and greater water pressure levels. Only one of the recruits survived with no deformities or serious mental problems. This was David Wintergreen, a recruit from Georgia who wanted always to protect his country. The process increased the density of muscle and bone structure to the point he was not only able to withstand all but the highest caliber armor piercing bullets, but was able to lift weights up to twenty-five tons. Unable to easily replicate the process again, the military decided to put David's talents to use in another way. Given a basic costume made of an experimental variety of Kevlar, David was given the codename Adonis and proclaimed America's first super-solider. While a competent hero who truly wants to help and protect his country and the people who live in it, Adonis is a very vain man. He's convinced his looks are the epitome of male beauty and that no woman should be able to resist his charms. Despite that he avoids trying this on the two ladies of the team, so as not to hurt the group dynamic. A natural leader, Adonis ofter takes the lead in any battle the Patriots have, due to the fact that he can take the brute force easily. After all he's the world's most perfect man. Robyn Hood: Marian Huntington was a child of a rich family of New England who came over on the Mayflower. Rumored to be of a royal bloodline, the Huntingtons were a particularly arrogant and proud family, but relatively honest. When Marian's father, Earl discovered a criminal plan to torch a set of family owned stores near the site of a future highway, in order to by the land dirt cheap, he kept his mouth shut. While he wouldn't get involved in such chicanery, he would not stop it as it didn't effect his family in the slightest. However the company behind the crime decided that anyone not part of their plans who knew of them was too dangerous to be allowed to live. So while Marian was at a friends house, the group arranged for Earl and his wife to be killed with evidence left to implicate them as the ones who orchestrated the arson attacks. It was when she came home that Marian was so shocked to see the lifeless bodies of her parents, she was left with a mental problem that has prevented her from speaking from that day on. While most of the family accounts were frozen, Marian's private trust fund was left untouched and she traveled to England to be watched over by her uncle who was an archeologist studying the myth of the famous rogue Robin Hood. While there Marian studied at the University of Oxford, majoring in botany. While helping her uncle's research she made a remarkable discovery. It turns out that Robin Hood was a woman, Maid Marian in fact. The young lady couldn't stand how her uncle Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham were treating the people, and so created the guise of Robin Hood to help steal enough gold from the idle rich to liberate King Richard from his kidnappers. Inspired by the tale Marian decided to imitate her namesake and fight for justice in the New England just as she had once done in the old. Using make-up and a wig to disguise herself, she went to various schools of archery in the city of Oxford and learned all they knew. What no one had yet discovered was the Marian could speak perfectly well, but kept up the mute act so as to appear frail and timid. After mastering archery she studied marital arts, with emphasis of Judo and Bōjutsu which focused on using a staff for a weapon. She even traveled to the seediest parts of England to learn the secrets of thievery and bounty hunting, always using different disguise and alias for each part of her mission to keep people from learning too much about her. It was during one of her lessons in bounty hunting that she ran into the love of her life, a girl name Eleanor who not only looked nearly identical to her, but was a true mute due to being born without vocal chords. Once her studies at both Oxford and elsewhere were finished, she returned to the United States, with her uncle and her girlfriend discreetly following on a different plane in an old disguise of Marian's. Her first act was to hand over her family's company to her uncle and start a simple flower shop called Marian's Marigolds that supply flowers and plants to the very rich of the city. However while using the job as a front, usually operated by Eleanor, Marian secretly gather materials from the company security and and R&D divisions and put together a costume. Soon she was ready as the lovely archer Robyn Hood. Robyn Hood uses a high-tech crossbow instead of the longbow of her namesake. While she uses trick bolts against her foes, these are usually only designed for large groups, such and flare and smoke bomb bolts. Otherwise she uses her fighting skills and collapsible Bo staff to deal with the criminals she fights. Only a couple of the highest members of the FBI have deduced her identity, and are willing to keep it to themselves so long as she help as a member of the Patriots from time to time. Operating from Grove, a hidden bunker under the warehouse she grows her flowers, Robyn keeps an eye on the city of Boston and deals with the costume crazies that have crawled out of the woodwork. The case that has her primary focus is her parents' murder. So far she's captured those who committed the actual killing but is unable to locate those who really control the company behind it. Until she does she can never enjoy a peaceful life with her lovely lady. Quickstep: Allen Jones was a simple person before he got his powers. Seeking a quiet life, he got a job as a janitor for a chemical lab where no one would bother him. For three years he worked there happily until the night he discovered what one of the lab technicians got up to after hours. For the last six months there had been reports of hookers and homeless disappearing off the streets due to a figure who offered them a cool grand for an hour of their time. It turned out that the lab technician, a man named Henry Jekyll was using these people as test subjects in his private human augmentation experiments, and so far none had survived. While Allen tried to sneak off and forget what he saw, the lab's chief of security grabbed him and handed him over to the doctor as a new guinea pig for his experiments. Despite his best efforts to talk his way out Dr. Jekyll injected him with a chemical solution designed to mimic the speed and agility of a cheetah. However the serum seemed to merely caused Allen to die of a heart attack. It was after the body was dumped in a swamp far from the lab that Allen came to. It turned out that what seemed a heart attack to the monitors he had been attached to was his heart speeding up so much it looked like it he had flat-lined. It was when Allen tried to jog back to town only to find himself there in less then five minutes, that he learned what the injection had done to him. He now had the power of super speed and agility far greater then any animal in nature. He also found that his intellect had been increased as a side effect of his minds adjustments to the fast thinking needed to function with such powers. the only downside he discovered was his skin lack the durability to handle the friction of high speed, and his body's caloric input needed to be replenished rapidly. Allen soon solved both of these problems by making a special costume from materials used by extreme speed enthusiasts and preparing a special high calorie paste that would help his metabolic output. Once he learned the full extent of his powers he captured both Dr. Jekyll and the security guard as the super-speedster Quickstep. Quickstep's super-speed power is similar to the power of the cheetah that the serum was based on. While he is able to run at a top speed of 320 mph, he can't maintain this speed for more then a couple of minutes. As such he usually runs at a cruising speed of 160 mph. While Allen still works as a janitor, he now works at a local factory with no security cameras to keep people from seeing how fast he does his job. It took a bit of doing for Adonis to convince Quickstep to join the Patriots, but now he's a member in good standing on the team. They just find it difficult to get him to slow down. Red Queen: While scientists have proven that humans do use 100% of their brains, they still don't know that it's not used efficiently. Ever since the dawn of man there are those whose brains run so well that they have the developed psychic powers. In the late 18th Century, these people came together and formed the Phoenix Society, a group to govern the use of their mental powers and how they were to be used. Those who joined were given rank within the group based on their power level. These ranged from the King and Queen of the Society who held powerful psionic abilities, to the young squires who were usually children and newly initiates to the Society. In the modern age the greatest of these Helena Troy, a daughter of Irish immigrants who came to America to avoid the classic battles between Protestants and Catholics. It was when she was nine she discovered her powers and was brought into the New York City chapter of the Phoenix Society. She spent many hours studying the nature of her powers and by the time she reached the age of twenty she was given the title of Queen of the New York chapter which was a first for the Society. When the age of the supers began in 1999 they great Kings of the Society decided it was time to start to reveal the existence of psychics. To do this they decided to choose an emissary to reveal his or her powers to the public and acts as a champion of justice. Tired of the minutia of running the New York chapter, Helena decided to volunteer and was chosen for the role. To keep the secret of the Society, she made it seem that exposure to a deadly toxin that a local terrorist cell had used on the city had an weird effect on her and unleashed her hidden potential. As a private joke she soon came out as the Red Queen, so dub because she loved Alice in Wonderland. In her own way, the Red Queen is as strong mentally as Adonis is physically. She is able to throw up a psionic shield that can withstand a stinger missile and lift up to twenty tons with her telekinesis. While she is technically able to fly due to her telekinesis, the Red Queen rarely employs that skill due to her crippling fear of heights. Her biggest value to the team is as their main communication node in battle, not to mention the team's spokesman as the only one with no secret identity. While easily the most popular of the Patriots due to her seeming lack of secrets, no one in or out of the team knows the real secrets she keeps close to her heart. Cobalt: When the Bard wrote "There are more things in heaven and earth, than are dreamt of in your philosophy" Cobalt is sure he had him in mind. Alex Clark was once just a scientist, an astronomer in fact, studying the night sky. One night a meteorite crashed a few yards away from the observatory he worked at. When Alex went to the site he saw a stone surrounded by a blue flame that seemed not to harm the brush around the site it had crashed into. Using a pair tongs to load into a containment capsule he took it back to the observatory to study it. As he cracked open the stone he discovered that the blue flames came from a from crystal that looked like a perfectly cut Tanzanite stone. As Alex planned to analyze the gemstone, he heard a crash from nearby. It was the Hell Riders, a street gang that wanted to unite all the gangs and turn the city into their personal kingdom. Since the company that financed the lab had refused to pay protection money, it planned to trash various buildings it owned and torture to death anyone who worked for them until they relented, and Alex was to be their first victim. The Hell Rider were merciless, for an hour they beat and tortured him, at one point forcing him to swallow the fiery gemstone with planes to wash it down with ipecac then force the stone back down when he threw in up and then do it again. However they heard the sirens from the local police before they could make him drink the liquid. So they instead poured gasoline over floor and Alex then threw a Molotov cocktail behind them as they fled the scene. The police arrived just in time to see the place go up in fireball. Alex Clark was declare dead at the scene due to the explosion and the fact that they couldn't find any remains of him. But the explosion threw Alex clear of the building and he landed in the forest near the smoldering rubble to burn as well. When he awoke he discovered that he was perfectly fine and completely healed. When he learned what had happened and that the world though he was dead, he decided to let them think that he was still dead. Using the papers left by his twin brother who died in the Congo, Alex soon became his grieving brother Allen Clark. Few test on himself that he had absorbed the gemstone and had been changed as a result. He soon found he had the ability to envelop his body in a fiery blue plasma without harm to himself, in which form he is able to fly by providing thrust behind himself with his own flame, and to generate powerful streams and/or balls of fire. The odd thing was that the blue flames he launched were more a concussive blast then a gout of burning flame that should normally happen. However he soon realized that this power was a way to stop the Hell Riders who had nearly gained enough followers from the other street gangs to allow them to either rule the city or burn it to the ground. After a bit of experimentation he found a material that was unaffected by his powers and fashioned a costume from it. It was then that the gang face the cold flame of the hero Cobalt. Cobalt is the most jaded of the Patriots. The tortures he endured showed him the ugly side of humanity and he hates it. For him the fight is more about punishing the wicked then protecting the innocent. Despite this he always tries to avoid doing more harm then is needed. He feels that killing may make him like the those he fights and tries to avoid it whenever possible. He joined the Patriots more as a safety measure then out of the need to do good that the others strive for. No matter how much the other try to get him to laugh or smile, Cobalt is one who will forever be blue. Well that's it for now. I think this is some of my finest work. I hope to add more like this here soon. Later! | |

| Well it took a bit of doing but I think I've come up with my best Earth 3 Micro yet. Prepare to meet Tygrus! Tygrus: Thomas Blake was once a world-famous trapper of jungle cats until international laws made it illegal. Seeing the need to help the jungle that had given his such challenges, he worked for a time as a guide and would track down various animals to tag them for the purpose of studying their migration patterns. Finally after many years Tom was called back to his home due to the news that his parents had been killed by the Prowler as a lark. This meant that he would now have to take care of the millions that his parents had left him. After buying controlling stock in Sivana Industries, he went trough the company's R&D department for useful materials for his new plan. Criminal predators were stalking the streets of his home and he felt it was time to do something about it. Inspired by the Justice force heroine Tigress, Tom decided to use the big cat motif as well. However since he knew nothing about Magic he would use cutting edge weapons and technology to even the odds. Armed with a special armored battlesuit that increased his speed and agility to level of a jungle cat's as well as arsenal of weapons and gadgets, Tom became the vigilante Tygrus. Unlike many heroes of his world, Tygrus is quite willing to kill his prey if that's what needed to stop them in serious situations. However these moments are few and far between, as he feels that the law should judge the guilty, not himself. The sole exception to this rule is Prowler, as Tygrus has made him a personal target. No matter how many people he saves, the great predator will not be content until he has ended the monster that took his parents. Many a criminal has best look over their shoulder at night, or get caught up in Tygrus' fearful symmetry. Well that's it for now. as a bonus I finished my Combot Knight and would love to hear your feedback on him. Later! | |
